Programme Organisers (POs)
The Programme Organisers run the Hospital-based element of the GP training scheme. They negotiate the rotations with the hospitals involved. They also run the monthly Half-day Release Course (HDRC) and sometimes they assist on the Registrars' Day Release Course.
The POs strongly encourage the trainees to let them know about their posts - the good and the bad - and to approach them with any problems relating to specific posts or to their career and training in general. Pastoral care is a key part of their role.
