Trainers
Dr Mike Richardson
MB BCh (1974) DRCOG MRCP
Dr Richardson qualified from Bristol University and joined the Practice in 1979. His special interests are minor surgery, dermatology and general medicine. During his spare time he enjoys sailing, squash, cycling and skiing.
Dr Chris McCall
BSc MB BS (1976) DRCOG DCH MRCGP
Dr McCall qualified at Kings College, London and joined the practice in 1982. Medical interests include meeting the patients, health service organisation (at Practice level and at the local Primary Care Trust) and cancer care. He is a keen fisherman (mostly for trout), gardener (or trying to) with a recent interest in growing bonsai trees (which seems to encroach into the work area), and car enthusiast (admiring and driving, unfortunately not owning). He is married with three daughters and has three dogs (all male to balance the sexes!) and various other animals.
Dr Rob Timmis
MB BS (1988) MRCGP DRCOG
Dr Timmis joined the Practice in 1994 after qualifying at University College of London. His medical interests are diverse and include family medicine, child health and rheumatology. He has a young family and enjoys sailing, tennis, golf and walking the dog!
Dr Mark Bridgman

First new Partner of the millennium, sacrificing an easy life down under! After training and working in New Zealand he travelled extensively for several years before settling in Dorset. Married with 4 children. Medical interests: child and adolescent health, palliative care, minor surgery and ENT Enjoys rugby, drinking cold beer and wearing shorts!
Dr Alistair Watkins
MB BS (1989) MRCGP DRCOG
Dr Watkins joined the practice originally as a GP Registrar in 1994 after qualifying in Lo ndon. He has particular interest in child health and minor surgery. He is married with a young family and two dogs, used to be a keen rugby player (prefers to watch from the armchair these days!) and enjoys sailing and walking.
About the Practice
The Hadleigh Practice was established in Broadstone in 1906 by Dr J C A Norman who was followed into the Practice by his two sons in 1945. The Practice rapidly expanded in those early years as the area grew, new homes were built and businesses developed.
Now the Practice has two large purpose-built sites and care is delivered from either Hadleigh House at Broadstone or Hadleigh Lodge at Corfe Mullen. Our population demographics are overall average for the UK although the Corfe Mullen area has the higher proportion of young families and working people. The Practice area is an area of low deprivation. Patients are encouraged to attend one site and Partners are based almost exclusively at one site with the exception of on-call rota responsibility.
We are traditionally a low referring, low prescribing Practice which we endeavour to maintain without prejudicing patient care. Quality of service from both primary and secondary care sectors is a high priority on our agenda.
GP Training
The practice has a long history of GP training and is proud of having trained many successful local GPs. The whole team are involved in training and all GP registrars have their own purpose built rooms. We run a well organised training programme to suit the individual needs of each Registrar.
We also train medical students and Foundation year 2 doctors from Poole hospital.
Special Interests within the practice
The Practice takes an active role in the local commissioning group and a number of partners have other medical interests outside of the Practice. These include Dermatology, Minor Surgery, Child Protection and GP Education. Some partners also have interests in local health service organisation and medical politics as a member of the Local medical Committee [LMC]. Some partners continue to work for the Out of Hours service.
