GP Tutors
The GP Tutors are individually responsible for Bournemouth, Dorchester and Poole, but work together as a team to provide a spread and wealth of easily accessible education across the county. They support educational events, small group learning and in-house education at practices. Their involvement in appraisal links into their role as support for GPs with particular learning needs or with issues that affect the GPs’ working lives. More information can be found in the GP section of this site.
Nick Panton is GP tutor for the Poole area. He has been an enthusiastic educator since the dawn of time, and was a CO before becoming a GP tutor. As tutor, Nick is undertaking a number of projects to invigorate GP education in Poole. Nick is renowned for his abilities as an actor, humourist, speaker and declaimer of poetry.
Susi Caesar is GP tutor for Dorchester and the surrounding area.
Susi was a part time principal in Cheshire for 11 years, and a GP Tutor for Mersey Deanery, before moving to Dorset in July 2006. She has now become a sessional GP, GP Tutor for Dorchester and freelance educator and appraiser down here. Promoting joined up working with the Deanery and PCT as the way forward for coherent educational provision is a key priority. Her passion is for personal empowerment for all in primary care, particularly in identifying what individuals need and want to learn and helping them identify the most effective ways to achieve their goals.
Trying to merge two families, with seven children between them fills a lot of the rest of her time. When time permits, she can also occasionally be found skiing, walking in the Alps or singing! Susi can be contacted via the Dorset County Hospital Education Centre.
Peter Blick is GP tutor for the Bournemouth area. He can be contacted at the Bournemouth hospital education centre.
