Associate Director (AD)
The AD is responsible for all GP education in the area. The education team of Programme Organisers, Course Organisers and GP tutors are usually your first point of contact if queries arise, but where they are unable to deal with a query or problem themselves the AD will often be asked for an opinion or become directly involved. GP trainees may need to talk to the AD as part of a practice re-accreditation visit, if they need to make substantial changes to their training (due to maternity, for example) or if, unfortunately, disciplinary matters arise.
